Inverters · Hardware

Inverters for electric drives – from the 48 V ESC to the GaN inverter with 99 % efficiency

Three inverters for three jobs, one common base: field-oriented control, CAN telemetry, integrated protection. Developed and manufactured in Regensburg, Germany – and adaptable to your application, hardware and firmware alike.

The models

Three inverters, three jobs.

From the compact 48 V inverter for drones and robotics to the GaN inverter for long-endurance flight and the new class for the smallest installation spaces.

48 V class · 6 kW

INV-60V-120A

The compact inverter for drives from 17 to 60 V: 6 kW continuous power, 120 A continuous phase current (rms), 337 g as case variant, 108 g as Aero variant. Field-oriented control, PersyCAN and DroneCAN, PWM/PPM – for multicopters, VTOL, robotics and mobile machinery.

GaN · maximum efficiency

INV-120V-40A

Six GaN half-bridges arranged as three full bridges for a motor with open windings: up to 120 V, 40 A phase current (rms), 99.125 % efficiency. Developed for a HAPS platform that stays airborne for 90 days at a time.

In development

INV-25V-100A

Low voltage, high current, minimal footprint: 25 V and 100 A phase current in a housing for drives that no inverter could fit into before. Currently in development – talk to us if your project falls into this class.

Common base

One firmware, one workshop, one test bench.

Field-oriented control

Speed and torque control with an inner Id/Iq current loop, rotor position sensorless or from an encoder. The same control in every inverter – parameterized for motor and operating point.

CAN and telemetry

PersyCAN for setpoints, parameters, telemetry and firmware updates; DroneCAN for flight controllers. Operating data arrives cyclically on the bus, without polling.

Protection and diagnostics

Overcurrent, overtemperature, undervoltage, monitoring of the input signals, fault log over CAN. What happens in the drive can be traced.

Measured, not estimated

Every inverter goes through our test bench in Regensburg: power analyzer, torque transducer, CAN logging. And the models that OverDrive computes with describe the inverters we build.

Custom development

When the standard variant does not fit.

That is exactly how the INV-120V-40A came about: a customer needed a drive that runs for 90 days without maintenance in the stratosphere – on an energy budget where every watt counts. We designed inverter and motor together for this operating point.

We take the same approach when your application calls for other voltages, currents, interfaces or installation spaces: hardware and firmware from one source, from the first sample to series production.
